Applications submitted under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme with the Scottish Government to be put on hold
The Government of Scotland made an announcement regarding applications submitted under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme indicating the Scottish Government as the visa sponsor.
To ensure those arriving continue to be provided with safe and comfortable accommodation, the Scottish Government has asked the Home Office to phase the processing of applications submitted under the Scottish super sponsor scheme on 11, 12, and 13 July 2022.
Such applications will be held until the Home Office is notified by the Scottish Government of their capacity to support such applicants.
The Home Office is in regular discussions with the Scottish Government and they will provide a further update on when applicants can expect their applications will be processed.
The Home Office understands that applicants will want to know what their options are now. They can either wait until their applications are processed in the future or withdraw their applications.
If they withdraw applications, they can find a private sponsor and submit a new application for a visa under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, to come anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Such a new visa application will allow to include all relevant information about a private sponsor, to ensure they meet the requirements for approval as a sponsor under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.
